For most travellers, the easiest way to get to Kosovo is by air.

  • ✈️ By Plane (The Main Option):

  • The main international airport is Pristina "Adem Jashari" International Airport (PRN).

  • From the UK, Europe, and North America: There are direct or one-stop flights from many European cities. Airlines like Eurowings, Wizz Air, or easyJet often operate routes to Pristina.

  • From Australia/New Zealand: There are no direct flights. Your route will involve one or two stops at major hubs like Istanbul or a major European city.

  • After arriving at the airport, you can easily reach the pickup location for your campervan. The exact address of our partner's rental station will be provided in your booking documents.

  • 🚗 By Road:

  • Entering Kosovo by road is possible from neighbouring countries (Albania, North Macedonia,

  • Montenegro). Important: It is not recommended to enter Kosovo from Serbia and then try to return to Serbia, as Serbia does not recognise Kosovo's entry stamps in passports. The easiest and most trouble-free route is usually through Albania or North Macedonia.

Kosovar Cuisine: Authentic Balkan Flavours

The gastronomy of Kosovo is delicious, hearty, and very affordable, with strong Balkan and Ottoman influences.

What you absolutely must try:

  • Flija: A traditional dish made of layered crepe-like batter and slowly baked over coals, a true delight.
  • Qebapa/Ćevapi: Small grilled minced meat sausages, served with flatbread (lepinja) and onions.
  • Burek (Byrek): Flaky pastry filled with cheese, meat, or spinach, perfect for any time of day.
  • Tavë: Meat and vegetable stews slow-cooked in a clay pot, such as Tavë Prizreni.

Camping in Kosovo: An Adventurer's Experience

Kosovo is an emerging destination, and its camping infrastructure reflects this pioneering spirit.

  • 🏕️ Wild Camping & Free-Standing:

  • There is no clear law prohibiting or permitting wild camping, but in practice, it is widely tolerated, especially in rural and mountainous areas. Kosovar hospitality is immense, and locals will often invite you to park on their land. The golden rule is to always ask for permission if you're near private property, be respectful, and leave no trace.

  • 🚐 Official Campsites:

  • The network of formal campsites is very limited and just beginning to develop. There are a few small campsites, often run by families or as part of a hotel or restaurant. Don't expect large complexes, but rather authentic and welcoming places.

  • On Campcruisers, you'll find a selection of campsites. Take a look, perhaps Kosovo is already among our options!
