Aperçu de l'itinéraire
À propos de ce circuit
Sri Lanka's coastal loop is beach-hopping at its finest: The route leads from Colombo south to Galle with its UNESCO fortress, then along the south coast via Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna, and Mirissa (whale watching!) to the east coast to Arugam Bay, the surf mecca. Monsoon times vary by coast – roughly: December-March south/west, May-September east. With some planning, there's always sunshine somewhere.
Votre voyage en détail
🏖️Galle & South
Galle is beautiful: The Dutch fortress from the 17th century is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with boutique hotels, cafés, and galleries in colonial buildings. The beaches south – Unawatuna, Jungle Beach – are postcard-perfect with clear water.
🐋Mirissa & Whales
Mirissa is whale-watching center – from November to April blue whales pass by, the largest animals on Earth! The morning tour starts at 6 AM and is unforgettable. The beach itself is relaxed with good restaurants and yoga retreats.
🏄Arugam Bay
The drive to the east coast goes through the hinterland – Udawalawe National Park for safari detour. Arugam Bay is Sri Lanka's surf mecca: Consistent waves May-September, relaxed vibes, cheap accommodation. Clocks tick slower here.
