Take the Interislander ferry to Picton. Along the east coast you reach Kaikoura – a hotspot for whale watching. This is followed by Christchurch as an urban stopover. From there, the route leads inland via the turquoise Lake Tekapo and through the highlands of the South Island to Queenstown. A real finale with alpine panorama, adventure activities and access to Milford Sound.

If you would like to rent a campervan in New Zealand from Campcruisers, you have the option of picking up the vehicle in Auckland, for example, and returning it in another city at the end of your tour. The one-way rental is not significantly more expensive, but has the advantage that you can see significantly more of New Zealand if you return your rented campervan in a different location and start your flight home from there.
