About this Tour

New England in autumn is a natural spectacle without equal: forests exploding in red, orange, and gold, historic small towns with white church steeples, and a culinary scene ranging from fresh lobster to maple syrup. This region, consisting of six states, is America's birthplace – here independence began, here the oldest traditions live on.

Stages

Your Journey in Detail

🍂Boston & Colonial History

Boston is America's most intimate major city – historic, intellectual (Harvard and MIT are nearby in Cambridge), and surprisingly walkable. The 'Freedom Trail', a 4-kilometer red stripe on the sidewalk, connects 16 historic sites of the American Revolution: the Old North Church (where Paul Revere gave his lantern signal), Faneuil Hall ('Cradle of Liberty'), the Old State House, and Boston Common, America's oldest public park. Culinarily, Boston is famous for seafood: 'New England Clam Chowder' (creamy mussel soup) and lobster in every form. Cape Cod, the hook-shaped peninsula southeast of the city, is the classic East Coast summer resort: dunes, beaches, lighthouses, and fresh fish.

🦞Vermont & New Hampshire – Pure Fall Foliage

Vermont is practically synonymous with 'Indian Summer' – the time in September/October when maple trees explode in a riot of color. The winding country roads (especially Route 100) lead through postcard country: white churches, red barns, cows in green pastures, and above it all a canopy of red, gold, and orange. Stowe Mountain and Smugglers' Notch Pass are legendary 'Fall Foliage' routes. Vermont is also home to maple syrup – visit a 'Sugarhouse' and try the real golden nectar that surpasses anything in supermarkets. Ben & Jerry's has its headquarters here – ice cream tasting included!

🏛️Maine – Lobster & Lighthouses

Maine is the wild, rugged north of New England – a coastline so jagged that if flattened, it would measure thousands of kilometers. Portland is the culinary star: one of America's best food scenes for a city its size, from farm-to-table to craft beer to innovative seafood cuisine. The obligatory stop: a 'Lobster Shack' by the water, where freshly cooked lobsters are served on newspaper – no frills, just pure ocean flavor. Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island is Maine's jewel: dramatic granite cliffs dropping into the sea, crystal-clear lakes, and Cadillac Mountain, from which you see the first sunrise in the USA (in October/November).
