Route Overview
About this Tour
The Peloponnese is where Greek antiquity comes alive. This peninsula connected to the mainland by the Corinth Canal hosts some of the most important archaeological sites in the world: Ancient Olympia where the Olympic Games began, Mycenae of King Agamemnon, and the perfect acoustics of Epidaurus Theater.
Your Journey in Detail
🏛️Corinth & Nafplio
The Corinth Canal is a spectacular engineering feat – a 6 km narrow cut through the rock, only 21 meters wide. Nafplio was Greece's first capital and is the most beautiful city on the Peloponnese – Venetian architecture, an impressive fortress, and charming old town.
⚔️Ancient Olympia
Olympia is where the Olympic Games were born in 776 BC and held every four years for over 1,000 years. Walking through the ancient ruins where history's greatest athletes competed is a humbling experience.
🏖️Mycenae & Epidaurus
Mycenae was the seat of King Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks in the Trojan War. The Lion Gate and the Treasury of Atreus are over 3,300 years old. Epidaurus Theater has the world's most perfect acoustics – a coin dropped on stage can be heard in the last row.
