Route Overview
About this Tour
Istria is Croatia's greenest secret. This heart-shaped peninsula in the north combines Italian dolce vita with Slavic warmth. Here grow the world's best truffles, olive oil wins international awards, and in Pula stands one of the best-preserved Roman arenas anywhere.
Your Journey in Detail
🍷Pula & the Roman Coast
Pula greets you with a bang: the Arena, a Roman amphitheater that held 20,000 spectators, stands nearly intact after 2,000 years. In summer, concerts and film festivals take place here. The beaches of Cape Kamenjak south of Pula are among Croatia's wildest and most beautiful.
🏺Rovinj & Coastal Jewels
Rovinj is Croatia's most photogenic town – perhaps even the entire Mediterranean's. The old town sits on a former island, houses seem to grow directly from the water, and St. Euphemia's bell tower crowns everything. A labyrinth of narrow streets full of galleries, boutiques, and restaurants awaits.
🌊The Hinterland – Truffles & Hill Villages
Istria's heart is green, hilly, and culinarily outstanding. Motovun, perched on a cone-shaped hill, is the postcard village par excellence – medieval walls, views over endless vineyards and forests, and of course: truffles! Istrian white truffles are world-famous.
