Alicante – Why Your Camper Heart Beats Faster Here

Camping In Sierra AitanaFruehstueck Mit Altea Blick

Looking for the perfect campsite in Alicante? Campcruisers makes it easy to find and book your ideal pitch. Discover vanlife, pure and enjoy camping in Alicante.

Imagine opening the rear doors of your van in the morning and the first breeze blowing in smells of salt and fresh rosemary. That is Camping in Alicante. While hotel guests are tied to fixed breakfast times, you decide whether to enjoy your coffee at Playa de San Juan or with a view of the rugged cliffs of the hinterland. Alicante is more than just a gateway to the Costa Blanca; it is a place that captures the sunlight like no other. The city vibrates, but as a camper, you will find the necessary peace and quiet in the surrounding area.

The landscape is characterized by a fascinating contrast of deep blue water and the light limestone cliffs of the Sierra Aitana. The climate makes Alicante for motorhomes attractive all year round. In winter, when it is gray in Germany, you can enjoy a mild 17 degrees here. The best time for campers to travel is spring and late autumn. In high summer it can get very hot, and the coastal spots are often completely booked out. In that case, you should definitely book in advance and ensure that your pitch in Alicante offers shade. In the low season, however, you have the freedom to drift and often still find a nice spot spontaneously.

Unforgettable Experiences & Must-Sees

Stausee Von Guadalest CampingSonnenuntergang Am El Campello
An absolute must is the climb to the Castillo de Santa Bárbara. But beware: driving directly to the castle with a large motorhome is not possible. It is better to park your vehicle in one of the guarded parking lots near the city or use the elevator opposite Postiguet Beach. Once at the top, the entire coast lies at your feet – a view that enhances every photo album. Afterwards, you should stroll through the Barrio de la Santa Cruz district. The narrow alleys with their whitewashed houses and colorful flower pots are so narrow that no camper fits through – so leave your vehicle on the outskirts of the city and explore the old town on foot or by bicycle.

A culinary highlight awaits you at the Mercado Central. Here you can not only stock up on supplies for the galley, but you should also definitely try Arroz a banda, a typical rice dish of the region that is often served in the small restaurants around the market. If you want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind, drive to Cabo de la Huerta. There you can hike along the cliffs and snorkel in hidden bays. Day parking can be found along residential areas, but be careful not to obstruct anyone to maintain the good reputation of the camper community.
